What is a gene panel test?
A gene panel is a set list, or a panel, of genes that are associated with a certain condition or list of symptoms. Typical panels consist of hundreds of genes and are curated from variant databases and scientific literature.
We use industry-standard equipment and a accredited analysis pipeline to detect any gene variations that could have clinially significant effects, and report them to you and/or your doctor to help guide your next steps.
When should I order a gene panel test?
If there is a good idea of what the diagnosis is or if you need genetic confirmation of your diagnosis. However if there is uncertainty and you require a broader approach with multi symptom investigation, we recommend WES or WGS. Please refer to our recommendations section for further guidance.
We offer gene panels for the following:
- Cardiology
- Dementia
- Epilepsy
- Hearing Loss
- Hypoglycemia
- Vision Loss
- Panel Ad on -- Please note that the Panel Ad on can only be applied to preexisting data, there is no sequencing included in this product.
